Give your customer portal access
Let the customer's contact see staffing, approve candidates and approve hours themselves — instead of ringing you to ask who is coming.
Last updated 8 August 2026
The customer portal removes the calls that start with "who is coming tomorrow?" — and turns approving hours into the customer's own job rather than yours.
Access hangs on the contact
Access is given to a contact on the customer, not to the company as a whole. If three people at the customer need access, you create three contacts. See Create a customer and a contact.
The customer can use the portal in a browser or in the Staffly app — it is the same data.
What the customer can do
| Area | What the customer does |
|---|---|
| Orders | Sees their own orders and how they are staffed |
| Shift calendar | Sees in a calendar who is coming and when |
| Approvals | Approves the candidates you propose |
| Approve hours | Approves the registered hours before invoicing |
| Expenses | Sees the expenses being passed on |
The customer sees only their own. They can never see other customers, your prices to anyone else, or what the employees are paid.
Hour approval is the important one
By default the customer approves the hours before you invoice. That means you agree on the number before the invoice goes out — which removes almost the whole discussion afterwards.
If the customer should not be involved on a particular order, turn on Auto-approve hours on it.
Tip: Introduce the portal at the same time as the first order. It is harder to get a customer to start using it six months into the relationship.
