Clocking: clock in and out

Turn clocking on for an order or an internal employee, follow who is clocked in right now, and handle the people who forgot to clock out.

Last updated 8 August 2026

Clocking is the second way of registering time in Staffly. Instead of writing the hours down afterwards, the employee clocks in when the shift starts and out when it ends — and the times are recorded by the server.

Turning it on

On an order it is chosen under Timeregistrering: Manual (start and end time) or Clocking (in/out). Manual is the default, so clocking has to be selected deliberately.

For your own internal employees — the ones not sitting on an order — it is chosen on the employee instead. Clocking then replaces the manual sheet for that person.

What the employee does

  1. Open the Staffly app or the employee portal.
  2. Tap Stempl ind when the shift begins.
  3. Tap Stempl ud when it ends — and enter any break in minutes.

The time in between becomes a time registration, approved in the normal way.

Note: Clocking needs an internet connection. An employee who is offline cannot clock.

The clocking page in the office

Under Drift → Stempling you have two lists:

  • Clocked in right now — everyone with an open clocking. Rows with an orange background are past their planned end time, so you can see at a glance who forgot to clock out.
  • Correction requests — employees who forgot to clock, or whose times are wrong. You can approve (which creates the hours with you as approver) or reject with a reason.

An open clocking can also be discarded entirely — then no hours are created.

If you edit a clocked time

If the office edits the times on a clocked registration, the original times are kept and the change is logged. That is deliberate: a clocked time is a piece of evidence, and it must be visible if it has been altered.
